07/21 Wide Margin Bibles For Students

There is absolutely no shortage of versions and styles of Bibles when a person goes searching for one. A person that is going to a religious college or is just a student of the bible may want to consider investing in some wide margin Bibles. These are specifically designed with extra wide margins so that the student can make copious notes for reference. Taking notes helps to clarify subjects, easily locate specific references and remember them for later. The margins of my own copy are absolutely filled with notes that have helped me to grow in my faith in the Word.

05/06 A 6-Year Bible Study Plan That Pulls It All Together

Perhaps you are like me, and you have spent quite a bit of time researching the different Bible study methods in order to find the best one for you and your needs. The problem I have run into is that there are so many great Bible study methods and they all seem to have ups and downs. The most in depth studies offer a lot of information, but the benefits may take awhile in coming to fruition. Lighter studies offer immediate "results" but may not be as meaningful in the long run. The solution…a 6-year bible study plan that pulls it all together. You can use whichever methods you feel are most beneficial in combination so that you can immediately apply what you learn without sacrificing a deeper, meaningful study.

04/10 be wary of books written on a popular level

Many publishers of bible doctrinal and theological reference tools market them as resources that can be used by the "average person."  As a general rule I have found these types of books to be a very little value — that's because they are written on such a low level that you will soon outgrow them.  I have discovered that many of these books are largely introductory and very general and their focus — they will skip over important and especially controversial subjects and give only the most basic overview of a subject, Bible passage, or theological concept.  It is a far better strategy to purchase an "advanced" resource and grow into it over time — is a much better use of your money.
