07/30 Medical School Rankings: Why They Count
The decision to become a doctor is an important one because it means that a student’s high school and college grades need to above average. Once a student has received his undergraduate pre-med degree, the next step is choosing the best medical school. Typically a student will begin with studying medical school rankings. The rankings rate the schools on patient care, specialities, and reputation, among other things. It is critical to attend a school which ranks highly in the student’s preferred speciality and whose reputation will get them the residency they want. Attending a top-ranked school can make the difference between a future doctor achieving his career goals or settling for an alternative.
